Las Szamana is one of the few producers in Poland creating Kuripe from this exceptional wood.
Hibiscus tiliaceus, also known as Waru, Sea Hibiscus, or hau, is a tropical plant from the mallow family, naturally found in many coastal regions of the tropical and subtropical zones. In traditional craftsmanship, it is valued for wood with a natural, warm character, good durability, and a pleasant structure.
Waru wood is used to create functional, decorative, and ceremonial objects. It has a natural, organic appearance, works well with hand processing, and allows for a smooth, pleasant-to-touch finish. This makes it suitable as a material for Kuripe - a personal ceremonial pipe with a unique character.
